Autumn Rain

2.

Ginji had to get out.  He pushed himself off the counter which he had backed into in the face of Akabane’s approach and made to walk towards the door, but in a flash Akabane was right in front of him.  Ginji’s eyes widened in fear and surprise as he felt a sudden pain in his back.  It was gone momentarily, but for some reason Ginji’s legs felt tingly and stiff then gave out completely.

“Wha…” he gasped as he threw his arms out onto the counter to try and catch himself from falling.  Akabane was standing over him, grinning insanely.

“My, my, Ginji-kun.  I expected more from you.  To be caught so easily…” he chuckled.

  “Caught? What do you…”

“It’s like acupuncture, Ginji-kun,” Akabane veritably purred, “One insertion at the proper place and your legs become immobile.”  The black-clad man took a small scalpel from his coat and held it up.  “One more and I can make you unable to move at all.”

“Th...there’s a scalpel in my back?” Ginji attempted to turn around to look.  He let go of the counter with one hand and tried to stretch around to take out the offending object.  Akabane tutted and leaned close to Ginji.

“Be careful, Ginji-kun.  If you disrupt it too much you’ll permanently paralyze yourself.  And I wouldn’t want that.”

“Neither would I!” Ginji squealed ungracefully.  Using his arms he lowered himself to the floor.  “Now get that out of me, Akabane-san!”  Akabane knelt down and put his cold, pale hand to Ginji’s face.

“But if I did that you would run away from me like you always do, Ginji-kun.  I ask for but a few moments of your time so that I might demonstrate my desire for you,” the black-clothed killer said softly.  Ginji found himself unable to speak.  He was shocked.  And Akabane’s last words had only served to increase his fear.  He started disbelievingly into the other man’s eyes.  He wondered if Akabane was making fun of him.  Or maybe he did things like this to people before killing them.  He was a bit of a maniac after all.  Ban-chan had said Akabane was a masochist.  Ginji didn’t really know what that meant but he knew it had something to do with Akabane liking killing.  Ginji thought he had no heart.  He’d never say he was cold-hearted because that’s what everyone said Ban-chan was.  And Ban-chan was not Akabane.  And as such, Ginji did not much like the way Akabane was currently stroking his cheek.  His anger was growing and with it his electricity.  He could feel its power rising up within him.

“Ginji-kun, you should not do that,” Akabane continued in that soft, menacing voice of his.  He drew his hand away from the sparking Ginji.  “You will upset the scalpels.”  Ginji did not care.  He just wanted Akabane away from him.  In front of him the Jackal sighed.

“You leave me no choice Ginji-kun,” he said and again Ginji felt that pain which he now knew to be the scalpels of Akabane Kurudo.  This time in the back of his neck, his shoulder and his side, infuriating Ginji further.  He sparked more viciously, with more voltage, but a sudden feeling of burning pain in his back made him reign in the power.  Akabane was grinning.

“I told you, Ginji-kun.  Your electricity will only hurt you more.”

Ginji tried to use his arms to pull himself away from the so-called doctor’s hand as it made to touch his face again.  Now he was in a total state of panic, and what was worse he was not sure he could hold back Raitei’s power for long.  He wished really hard that Ban-chan would come through the door at that very moment, but no one came and Akabane was now leaning in so close to Ginji’s face, he could feel the other man’s cool breath on his cheek.  He tried to pull away but Akabane took his face in his hard more firmly.

“Now, now.  I will not hurt you, Ginji-kun.  As I said before, I only wish to show you how much I desire you.”  He moved in closer so their noses touched.

“Ban-chan...help me...” Ginji murmured, at which he saw Akabane’s eyes narrow before closing the space between them completely and taking Ginji’s lips in an urgent kiss.  Ginji used one of his arms to try and push Akabane off, the other all that was supporting him and keeping the scalpels from being ground further into his back.  Akabane easily forced the arm away and continued to kiss the increasingly frantic former gang leader.  It was at that moment the door to the shop crashed open and the figure of a drenched Midou Ban stood in the doorway looking most displeased.
